Saksham Anganwadi Initiative: Transforming the Anganwadi Centres of Gurugram

CSR Collaboration between Avaya India & Bal Bharti Academy

A grassroots initiative revitalizing Anganwadi Centres in Delhi NCR with solar power, BARC water filtration units, modern kitchens, safe sanitation, and interactive digital tools. Learning is enhanced through BaLA-based environments that turn walls and spaces into educational aids. The project empowers women through vocational training in skill development and digital literacy, while upskilling Anganwadi workers in child nutrition, healthcare, and modern teaching methods thus promoting holistic early childhood development and sustainable community progress.

Project Overview

Our Vision

To upgrade Anganwadi Centres in Delhi NCR into vibrant, inclusive, and digitally-enabled early learning spaces, focus on education, nutrition, and women’s empowerment. The project also envisions to build capacities through skill development training for Anganwadi workers and helpers, enhancing their ability to deliver quality early childhood care and services.

Anganwadi Centre Selection Rationale

Poor Infrastructure & Low Footfall: The chosen centers face notable infrastructure gaps and low attendance among children aged 0–6, signaling a clear need for intervention to improve service quality and outreach.

Strategic Urban-Village Locations: Located in peri-urban areas, these centers serve communities at the intersection of rural and urban challenges, making them ideal for impactful CSR engagement.

No Prior CSR Support: These centers have not previously received any CSR interventions, allowing our initiatives to provide new value and resources.

ICDS & District Approval: The selection was made with ICDS recommendations and District Program Officer approval, ensuring alignment with government priorities.

POSHAN Vatika: With available space and community openness, these centers are well-suited for launching nutrition gardens as per Saksham Anganwadi guidelines.
